Team Riverrunner Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky first assembled on Dec. 02, 2010 at Northern Kentucky University and had its first meeting of volunteers. Shortly after that we had our first pool session to train those who would be training the veterans in basic kayak paddling skills including rolling. We continue to grow in volunteers numbers as we continue to train for the spring and summer kayaking seasons.

Here is what we offer the veterans:

• Regular pool or open water sessions of approximately 2-3 hours each. Some sites offer multiple sessions per week

• Numerous local kayaking trips and twice a year family days

• Learn a potentially brand new skill, rather than struggle with a skill he/she used to be an expert

• Overcome emotional roadblocks left by post traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury

• Practice basic cognitive sequencing by following small sets of instructions

• Bring his/her family into a new recreational hobby

• HAVE FUN!
